The Jazzy motorized wheelchair is one of the most popular motor powered wheelchairs available on the market today and for good reason. These chairs are well known for their dependability and faithfulness to perform exactly the duties that the manufacturer proclaims them to do. Jazzy wheelchairs took the market by storm when it started in 1987 and has not slowed down yet.
Jazzy wheelchairs have been seen by millions and millions of people who probably had no clue that they were looking at one of the best electric wheelchairs on the market. In the movie Austin Powers: Goldmember, Dr. Evil and Mini Me are seen driving around their complex in two separate powered chairs. Underneath the additional plastic and paint were two Jazzy wheelchairs faithfully fulfilling their duty of transporting people from one place to another.
Jazzy wheelchairs have made it to the little screen as well by appearing in popular shows like Scrubs, Birds of Prey, Ed and others. At first this may not seem too impressive for these chairs to be used in these various forms of entertainment until the following fact is considered. Movie and television studios want to use products that are dependable and will perform when needed so that valuable time and money is not lost while waiting on that particular item to be repaired for a particular shot.
Jazzy Motorized Wheelchair Offers a Great Warranty
While many electric wheelchair manufacturers offer a standard one-year warranty, Jazzy takes it to the next level. Many models of the Jazzy motorized wheelchair come with a three year guarantee. This means that if there are problems with the major components of the chair, it can be replaced at no cost to the owner.

A motorized chair comes in many different shapes and sizes and can perform well under a number of different situations. One common thing that all electric wheelchairs share is that they rely on a motor to transport the chair from one place to another. This means that individuals can experience a greater sense of freedom by controlling were they are at any given time.
Most people who hear the word wheelchair immediately picture in their mind a chair that is made out of tubular steel and has two large wheels that are controlled by the individual sitting in the chair and two smaller wheels in the front that rotate freely. This type of chair has established itself as the standard manual wheelchair used by many people throughout the United States of America. The very first chair to use a motor was based on this style and simply had a motor attached to the large wheels to provide power.
Over time, many changes have been made to electric wheelchairs to make them easier to use with a wider range of travel capabilities. Recent developments in motors and wheels have created wheelchairs that are similar to all-terrain vehicles when it comes to the terrain they can function in. This is a great step in opening up new possibilities of places to go for people in wheelchairs.
The Motorized Chair of Tomorrow
With all of the advances that have taken place in recent years for a motorized chair, it is hard to imagine how much better they can become in the future. Take into consideration that a chair exists today that allows people to ascend or descend a flight of stairs, travel along the beach, reach items on a top shelf and more. One thing is for certain, the chairs of the future will offer even greater mobility than has ever been known before as well as additional features that will increase their functionality.

Wheelchair pictures give an individual a great idea as to what various chairs look like and the functions that they can perform. Someone once said, A picture is worth a thousand words, and they have created a well known understatement. A good picture can provide all the detail that many different words cannot even come close to describing, especially when it comes to the high-tech electric wheelchairs available today.
Wheelchair Pictures and the Internet
The internet is of the great resources available when it comes to finding pictures of all kinds of different items and products. When it comes to wheelchair pictures, the Internet is probably the King of all sources for viewing pictures of these helpful machines. Practically every single web site that sells wheelchairs includes pictures of the various models that they offer as well as a list of specifications so that an individual can not only see the chair but also read about its functions.
In addition to pictures that show the chairs by themselves, pictures are available of individuals using their chairs for various purposes. Chairs can be seen as they travel down the sidewalk or through the woods, depending on the capabilities of the chair and the adventurous spirit of the one who operates it. In fact after viewing some pictures, one may realize that the sky is the limit to ways these chairs can be used.
Another great form of pictures of electric wheelchairs available on the information superhighway is in videos. If pictures are worth 1000 words, then how many words would a thirty second video be worth that shows over 700 pictures in rapid succession. Videos exist that show the great features and functions of wheelchairs today.

Wheelchair manufacturers have the task of creating chairs that are innovative, technologically advanced, comfortable and easy to use all in one product. This seems like a pretty tall order for almost any company to try to tackle but there are many that are doing it quite well. Take into account the many different innovations that have been introduced in the last 8 to 10 years.
There have been changes in the motors that are used so that incredible amounts of power are available in an instant and yet incredibly controllable. The variations available in speeds is amazing in these systems where the pressure applied to the joystick makes the chair travel faster or slower. Motors have given chairs the power they need to climb over obstacles safely and securely and with ease.
Great changes have also been made in the wheels that these chairs use to transport their passengers to wherever they want to go. Wheels have the ability to grip the surface they are traveling on better than ever before and give the owner of the chair a great increase in stability. Wheels are designed to work in conjunction with the motor to climb over various obstacles.
Wheelchair Manufacturers Compete and Consumers Win
The competition among wheelchair manufacturers has increased drastically, particularly with the introduction of the Internet in the mid-nineties. The Internet has leveled the field as far as availability of products to the general public because people from all over the United States of America can access a web site provided by any wheelchair producer and have a chair delivered to their location. This means that manufacturers must produce innovative chairs with competitive prices which is a winning situation for consumers.

A wheelchair history dates back as far as 400 years and some people have traced instances of wheels being attached to chairs to over 1,000 years ago. The oldest chairs were rarities and were not used by the majority of people at that time. The chairs were made out of wood and at first glance would appear to be a regular chair but with the addition of wheels.
As the wheel changed, so did the wheelchair because newer wheels were always being adapted to the chairs that also were changed in an effort to make them better. This means that when skates were invented, the same kind of wheels eventually ended up on a wheelchair. Then when the bicycle came along, those wheels were attached to the chair as well and the progression continued and still continues even today.
Electric Wheelchair History
In 1956, Everest and Jennings introduced the first electric wheelchair that was mass produced and made available to the public. This first chair was basically a standard manual chair with a battery and motor attached to the large wheels. This was an important step and many advances would be made from this point forward.
The next big step in electric wheelchairs came when electronic circuitry and proportional control drive was introduced to the systems. This gave the wheelchair rider much more control over the operation of his chair as the chairs became faster and more powerful about the same time. Changes have been made over time in every aspect of the chair from the seat to the brakes to the motor to the batteries to the over all style and color. It is interesting to note that what is innovative today will be wheelchair history tomorrow.
